Brief history of the Asalha Puja Day:  After the Lord Buddha attained enlightenment, he went to a forest where five ascetics (Pancavaggi) lived. On the full moon day of the eighth lunar month, Buddha delivered the first sermon to the five ascetics, and Kondanna asked for ordination from the Lord Buddha and consequently became the first monk in Buddhism. The Triple Gem became complete.

ขอเชิญพุทธศาสนิกชนร่วมกันทำบุญตักบาตรเนื่องในวันอาสาฬหบูชา และวันเข้าพรรษา ณ วัดป่าซาราโซต้า ในวันเสาร์ที่ ๑๓ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๒

ประวัติย่อของวันอาสาฬหบูชา       หลังจากที่พระพุทธเจ้าได้ตรัสรู้ธรรมแล้ว ในวันวิสาขบูชา พระองค์ได้เสด็จไปยัง ป่าอิสิปตมฤคทายวัน ที่ซึ่งนักบวชปัญจวคีทั้งห้า อาศัยอยู่ในขณะนั้น พระองค์ทรงเทศนาธรรมเป็นครั้งแรกในวันเพ็ญ ๑๕ ค่ำ เดือน ๘ จากนั้น ท่านโกณฑัญญะ จึงได้บวชเป็นพระภิกษุรูปแรกในพระพุทธศาสนา ดังนั้นวันนี้เป็นวันที่พระสงฆ์ได้เกิดขึ้น และพระรัตนตรัยครบองค์ ๓
