Sarasota Forest Monastery

As you know, Phra Ajahn Keng Khemako has accepted SFM as a branch monastery recently. Because of the timing that was so close to the Vassa (the 3-month annual retreat observed by Theravada practitioners), monks would have generally committed to be somewhere for the season, as a consequence, SFM is without monks for the Vassa.

Fortunately for SFM Community, we have Zoom. Monks from anywhere in the world can provide teaching via internet. Phra Ajahn Keng will be the first.

Phra Ajahn Keng is residing at Santi Forest Monastery, Geelong, Victoria, Australia, and has accepted our invitation to teach via Zoom.

ตามที่ทุกท่านทราบเป็นอย่างดีแล้วว่าพระอาจารย์กาเข่งได้ตอบรับคำขอจากคณะกรรมการ เพื่อให้วัดป่าซาราโซต้าได้เข้าเป็นวัดในสาขาของท่าน เนื่องจากเวลาในการทำคำขอและการตอบรับ ใกล้กับวันเข้าพรรษามาก เราจึงไม่สามารถหาพระเพื่อมาจำพรรษาที่วัดเราทันเวลา เพราะโดยปรกติแล้วพระจะวางแผนที่จะจำพรรษา ณ ที่วัดต่าง ๆ ก่อนหน้าเป็นเวลานานพอสมควร

นับเป็นโชคของคนในสมัยนี้ที่มีซูมให้ใช้ พระ ณ ที่ต่าง ๆ ในโลกสามารถให้คำสอนผ่านอินเตอร์เน็ตกับสาธุชนผู้สนใจได้ พรรษานี้พระอาจารย์เข่งจะเป็นผู้สอนธรรมมะองค์แรกกับพวกเรา ขณะนี้ท่านจำพรรษาอยู่ที่วัดสันติที่ออสเตรเลีย
