SUPPORT

In keeping with our tradition, there is no charge for anything at Sarasota Forest Monastery. The monks and lay supporters provide everything at the monastery in the spirit of generosity. If you are interested in helping the monastery, please see below for some options on how you can contribute.

Meal Offering

Every day in the early morning, the monks take part in the ancient Buddhist tradition of going for alms round in the Englewood area. Their meals each day consist of the food they receive on their alms round and that which lay supporters offer at the monastery at 10:30 AM. If you haven’t been to Sarasota Forest Monastery yet and wish to know more details about offering food to the monks, either during their alms round or at the monastery, you can call us at (941) 914-7504 (Chailai Brune) or email us at sarasotaforestmonastery@gmail.com

Volunteer

Lending a hand at the monastery is always welcome and greatly appreciated, such as helping out with the various maintenance work, weeding the gardens, watering and fertilizing the many fruit trees, clearing the paths in the forested land, etc. If you have additional skills or relevant experiences you wish to offer (e.g., construction / carpentry / website development), please reach out and let us know.
